Alien Ramen Premake

Made with Pico-8 to test the combat upgrade system. Co-op! Use a controller for best gameplay, but works with keyboard.

Player 1:

Arrow Keys -> Move

Z -> Shoot

X -> Dodge

Z&X -> Activate Upgrade with XP

Player 2:

ESDF -> Move

W -> Shoot

A -> Dodge

W & A -> Activate Upgrade with XP

Upgrade system  works like this: 

You unlock upgrades by progressing through waves (on a timer), the upgrade menu will pop up automatically. You choose your upgrade and you choose where on the upgrade track you want to push it. Activate both buttons to spend xp and get the upgrade on the upgrade track, that will apply it to your character (or in the case of something like a bomb, use it).

Both players share the upgrade track, so cooperate (or race) for the upgrades you want.
